![]() ![]() Eventually a replacement bus service arrived however the bus was a single storied smaller bus not built for long journeys. Really bad experience, bus was 10 minutes late leaving, but that was the least of our worries! After 40 minutes of being on the road the bus broke down by a police check point where we stayed for the next 4.5 hours, with no explanation from our drivers as to what was happening. I am not usually one to complain but felt these things should be highlighted and people should be aware to buy things before boarding this bus to avoid a very uncomfortable journey. I had read bad reviews before booking but thought people were probably just being picky and understand it is a budget bus but I have travelled with other budget buses and not had this experience. Moreover not only did my charging port not work but of all the seats around me none of them worked and down the side of my chair there was loads of leftover food and some had gone mouldy. I felt severely dehydrated as had been on a bus for 21 hours as the bus was 2 hours late and had only had a tiny cup of orange juice and didn't feel the staff were very approachable to ask for more due to my first impressions of them. I was also told the bus would stop in the morning which it did to drop people off or for petrol but nowhere to buy any juice. Was told we would stop at 11 and I could get water (this was 5.30pm) when the bus did stop there was no shop open to get water and the meal that was served was a tiny cheese and ham sandwich and a tiny cup of orange juice. I was told i had no time to run to the shop right next to the bus for water even though I waited another 15 minutes to get on the bus anyway, staff were not very pleasant. I then got to the bus and there was a big cue anyway to put your bag on. Stock up on the Internet, read our blog about a vacation in the Dominican Republic. When I first arrived for the bus 20 minutes ahead of time the man at the desk was very unpleasant and started shouting at me that my bus was already here and to move, I was only asking him to print my ticket as my hostels wifi had been down and felt 20 minutes was enough time to spare. ![]() There is not much to do on the bus during the trip, the landscapes around you get bored in 10 minutes. ![]() The bus has a bathroom, but tourists complain that there is no toilet paper If you are going to travel by bus, take the toilet paper with you. There are also a series of scheduled stops.
